Recognizing Emotions, Learning Awareness, through Experiences
RELAx, is a course I wrote in 2012 while working for a drug and alcohol prevention agency. At that time, my personal interest of yoga was deepening and I was reading many ‘new age’ and self help books. RELAx is my spin on Mindfulness, with a distinct focus on the informal practice. The course is taught online over six weeks. Our small group of students meet once a week to discuss, reflect, practice and learn. Your ‘homework’ is to reflect and practice the topics covered in the lessons. Journaling is highly recommended.
We begin with assessing your stress level. How is it impacting your behaviors? How are you coping? I share the practice of Mindfulness from an Eastern/Western perspective. It is the simplest, most effective, and FREE tool you have to assist you in coping with stress. Each weekly session offers practice time and lessons. Topics covered include Mindful eating, Mindful movement, Mindful communication and Mindful relationships.
The enrollment fee is $25. Class size is limited to 10 students, with a minimum of three students. Please reach out if you, a group of friends, family members, or co-workers would like to RELAx together. Enrollment dates can be customized.
